The Information We Collect
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the TERIS Web site. For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server does not automatically recognize any information regarding the domain or e-mail address. We collect only the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail or voluntarily opt-in to subscribe to our newsletter.

TERIS respects individual privacy and values the confidence of its customers, their stakeholders, employees, business partners and others who may use our services. Not only do we strive to collect, use and disclose personal information in a manner consistent with the laws of the countries in which we do business, but we also aim to uphold the highest ethical standards in our business practices. This Privacy Policy sets forth the privacy principles that TERIS follows with respect to the protection and transfers of personal information, whether it is in electronic, paper or verbal format, between the United States and member states of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway (the European Economic Area). This statement applies to all personal information we handle (except as noted below), including on-line, off-line, and manually processed data.
SAFE HARBOR
The United States Department of Commerce and the European Commission have agreed on a set of data protection principles and frequently asked questions (the "Safe Harbor Principles") to enable U.S. companies to satisfy European Union law requirements for adequate protection of personal information transferred from the EU to the United States. The EEA also has recognized the U.S. Safe Harbor as providing adequate data protection. Consistent with its commitment to protect personal privacy, TERIS adheres to the Safe Harbor Principles.
DEFINITIONS
"TERIS" means TERIS, its predecessors, and successors.
Personal information" means any information or set of information that identifies or could be used by TERIS, its customers or agents of its customers, to identify an individual. Personal information does not include information that is encoded or anonymized, or publicly available information that has not been combined with non-public personal information. It does not include information that pertains to a specific individual, but from which that individual could not reasonably be identified.
Sensitive personal information" means personal information that reveals race, ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, or that concerns health or sex life. In addition, TERIS will treat as sensitive personal information any information received from a third party where that third party treats and identifies the information as sensitive.

Notice and Choice
To the extent permitted by the Safe Harbor Agreement, TERIS reserves the right to process personal information in the course of providing professional services to our clients without the knowledge of individuals involved. Where we collect personal information directly from individuals in the E.U., we inform them about the types of personal information we collect from them, the purposes for which we collect and use it, and the types of non-agent third parties to which we disclose that information. We also inform those individuals about the choices and means, if any, we offer individuals for limiting the use or disclosure of their information.
